I have an index.dwt template that I'm using for every page in
my website but within the different pages I need to have another
template specific to that page only. I can't seem to apply the
second template without overwriting everything on the page.
Check these out for a visual of what I'm trying to do.

The third image is what I'd like to have but can't seem to
figure out. Thanks in advance for your help.
EDIT: I think my problem was I was trying to insert a
template within a template. Hopefully that was it and I can figure
this outApply multiple templates to one html...
Any given page can only be child to a single template. Sorry.

some of those layouts are very similar in look, except for
what photos show
at the top.
so- If the layout was the same, you could use one template,
with an editable
region at the top for the header section, and an editable
region for the
main content.
in the top editable region, use a dw Library item or SSI so
all the pages
using one style of header can be updated in one fell swoop.
the third page image looks much the same, but has some more
photos further
down the page? Then put an editable region there. leave it
empty in pages
you don't anything, and insert a library item or SSI for
pages that do.
If the layout is really different- then use different
templates.
If the layout is the same, just different groups of pages
will have
different content in certain defined areas, use the above
method.
It's best to stick with as few templates as possible.
suggest you not explore nested templates.
