Toolbars disappearing

I find that the various toolbars keep closing, for example
when I go into a preview, the main toolbar is gone when I return to
the project, or the alignment toolbar goes.

Furthermore, sometimes when I go to
View %26gt; Toolbars to turn a toolbar back on, it is already
ticked. I tick another one, and the one I wanted appears.

Very annoying!

Hi there,

Yeah, I have seen this happen on couple of occasions. I have
found that re-starting Captivate can sometimes solve this problem.
Failing that you might also want to try renaming the captivate.dat
file which you will find via the following path.

Adobe Captivate 2

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application
Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\

Macromedia Captivate 1.0

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application
Data\Macromedia\Captivate

if you can provide the Adobe Captivate team with a series of
reproducible steps, it would be worth submitting this using the

Feature
Request/Bug Report Form

HI all

Just a wee bit of technical clarification here.

If you are using Captivate 1, the file name you are looking
for is:
captivate_v
10.dat
.

If you are using Captivate 2, the file name you are looking
for is:
captivate_v
20.dat
.

Cheers... Rick

Just as a backup, I see this problem too, same OS version.
I've given up

worrying about it and just use the menu bar selections or
shortcut keys

(if I know them). The menus take up too much space
anyway...or so I tell

myself since they keep disappearing anyway!

Ditto - same problem, same OS version, same annoyance.
I have just lost track of how many things I do to get this
problem. Can we all go back to Captivate 1?
