outside program to disable flash?

I just cannot take it anymore. I just waited for 4.5 MINUTES
for a damn page to load that had 5 flash advertisements....5!!!!!

Where can i find an outside program that will let me disable
flash (win98/ netscape 7.1), UNLESS, I click the flash animation to
view it? This is just absolutely ridiculous, why doesnt adobe give
you the ability to turn things off, so they dont take a half hour
to load? I play flash games, but its almost like the flash
advertisements are redirects that you dont expect when viewing a
page.
