hey all,
now that I have set up a form to be filled in by visitors,
how do I go about setting up an email response mechanism , ie what
do i have to do to receive the information the visitor fills in on
the form on my website?form filling
First place to check is with your host. You need a FormMail
script to
process the form once it is submitted.
You host should supply such a script for free (most do
anyway). Check their
FAQs or your control panel you should be able find reference
to such a
script. If not, email them. If they do not supply such a
script post back
and you'll get some recommendations on some scripts that you
could use.

thanks for your feedback Nadia.
I could not find the script in CPanel nor is there a FAQ, so
I have sent an email to my hosting company and will see what kind
of response I get.
cheers !

Your hosting does have CPanel?
Look in it again and find the icon for ''CGI-Center'' then
click on formmail
clone. Most hosts using CPanel leave that option enabled.
If it's there- you set the action of the form to where it
says the script
is, usually /cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi or .pl
click the link for the documentation. You don't need to
install the script,
you are using a script that's installed and working for all
sites hosted on
that box so can skip that part of instructions. You need to
check on changes
to make to the html form.
Such as inserting a hidden field for ''recipient'' and
optionally a hidden
field for ''redirect''
that will work fine as long as the recipient email address is
at the domain
hosted on this server. And you don't mind the email address
being in the
html page's source code.
If you can use php on this hosting you could use
