FLV resolution/quality

I made an FLV player for a customer and he insists that the
resolution of the FLVs he's playing in it are of a lesser quality
than in other stock players he's used. Tried to tell him the player
has no control on FLV quality other than resizing the SWF object.
The FLV resizes with the player... the more you enlarge the video
away from it's original aspect ratio the lower the resolution (more
artifacts).

Am I wrong? Is there something I'm missing?

help? thanks

When dealing with this type of problem you should get the
stock players he is using, how he is opening them. You will also
want provide specific details on how video works with bit rates and
quality of the video. Now if they are opening the videos from the
originals such as comparing a high bit rate Quicktime to a
compressed low bit rate Flash Video you will defiantly need to
express the bit rate issue.

If the stock players playing flash video do look better you
will need to make sure that your video window is set to the exact
size of the video you are using, has a .0 location on your stage
(non of the locating it at 5.5 px X or something use 5.0 ). You
need to maintain the aspect ratio of the video if you are resizing
the video.

Final note you will want to make sure that you are using
video.smoothing

to use this your player must be using the high quality
setting when publishing.
